WorkSafe says it has officially begun an investigation into work health and safety at Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park in the lead-up to the 22 January landslide.

The agency announced the move in a brief statement dated 20 February. It did not provide details about the scope of the inquiry, timelines, or whether other parties are involved.

WorkSafe’s investigations assess whether health and safety duties were met before an incident. The agency has not released further information at this stage.
