Police are making enquiries after a two-vehicle crash involving an unmarked Police car on Newton Road in Eden Terrace last night.

The collision was reported just before 8:50pm. Two people received minor injuries: the driver of the second vehicle and a Police officer. Two other officers who were also in the unmarked vehicle were uninjured.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage. Newton Road was closed while emergency services worked at the scene and reopened around midnight.

Inspector Kai Shao said enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. No further details about the cause of the crash have been released.
