Police say one person has died after a single-vehicle crash on Vipond Road in Stanmore Bay this morning.

Emergency services were called at about 10.25am. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vipond Road is currently closed between Doyly Drive and Lea Place while the Serious Crash Unit examines the scene. Police say enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

No further details about the deceased have been released at this stage. Motorists should avoid the area and expect delays while the closure remains in place.
