Detective Senior Sergeant Scott McKenzie said that around 7pm on Thursday, 2 April, a group of men approached a Cobham Crescent address armed with firearms. After a verbal altercation with the occupants, a shot was fired from inside the address toward the group, who then returned fire into the house. No injuries were reported.
A search warrant was executed at a Huntly address this morning and a 54-year-old man was taken into custody. He has been charged with discharging a firearm at a person and participating in an organised criminal group, and is due to appear in the Hamilton District Court on 6 April.
